Junior Achievement volunteers can make a profound difference

Lamenting Tuesday's terrorist bombings in Brussels, Larry Nichols on Thursday said it sometimes takes tragedy to help people focus on what their priorities really are.

Nichols, executive chairman of Devon Energy Corp., knows all too well. In the aftermath of the Murrah Building bombing, he witnessed many poignant outpourings during the weeks his wife and bombing victim, Polly Nichols, was hospitalized, he told guests at a Junior Achievement luncheon at the Home Builders Event Center.
